OMU Tourism Faculty, Tourism Management Department organized an event specifically for the 2024-2025 academic year as part of the Alumni-Student Meetings. Past graduates Emre CANDAN (Anemon Hotel) and Berivan GEZMİŞ (OMU Tourism Management Department Master's Student) participated as speakers in the event. Active participants included Tourism Faculty Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Zuhal ÇİLİNGİR ÜK, Assistant Professor Esra KATIRCIOĞLU, Res. Dr. Sezi AYDIN, Res. Dr. Hüseyin Ertan İNAN, Res. Dr. Gökhan ERŞEN, Res. Burak ARSLAN, students, and the administrative staff of the Tourism Faculty.
The event began with the opening remarks of Associate Professor Zuhal ÇİLİNGİR ÜK, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at Ondokuz Mayıs University. "As members of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Tourism family, we strive to develop a sense of belonging and establish a tradition by meeting with you twice a year. I thank you, our valued alumni and students, for your participation and support in this endeavor. Remember, Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Tourism is, and will always remain, your home," she said.
Afterward, one of our participants, Emre CANDAN, shared his past graduate studies and his experiences in the industry with our students. Berivan GEZMİŞ shared her undergraduate experiences and how, due to the positive attitudes and demeanor of the school's academic and administrative staff, she decided to pursue her graduate studies at the same institution. The speeches concluded with a Q&A session where undergraduate students interacted with the participants, and suggestions and decisions were made for future alumni gatherings.
The event concluded with a souvenir photo shoot after certificates of appreciation were presented to 2019 graduate Emre CANDAN and 2024 graduate Berivan GEZMİŞ for sharing their knowledge and experience.
