A career event was held at the Tourism Faculty's Hanife Aşçı Conference Hall. Speaking at the event, Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut said, "All sectors, especially the tourism sector, whose core is people, need to invest in two of today's most valuable assets. The first is information, and the second is people. When both are combined, whether from an institutional or individual perspective, a difference will be made and differentiation will be achieved, leading to increased demand for individuals or institutions."
As Alvin Toffler, one of the most prominent strategists in the field of business administration, said, "Knowledge spoils every game." As the Faculty of Tourism, we strive to develop individuals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and responsibilities required by the tourism industry. In this regard, the faculty members teaching in our departments come not only from academia but also from the industry. Our expert faculty, encompassing a wide range of disciplines, from managers of leading international hotel chains to executives in public institutions and organizations, entrepreneurs, and industry consultants, further strengthens our strength. Through both our students' involvement in business and our expert instructors' involvement with our faculty, we aim to bring academia and industry together.
"Starting next semester, we are updating the 'tourism management department' curriculum. With this update, our students will complete their final year by completing internships at businesses after completing six semesters of theoretical courses. This will allow our students to maximize the effectiveness of their internships and ultimately prepare them for the workforce. It's important for us to host TUI, one of the sector's most important players, here today and sign a cooperation protocol with them. The fact that our students are working and interning at global brands is crucial for their personal development," he said.
Following Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut's speech, TUI Human Resources Director Satı Murat Demirer spoke to students about the recruitment process. At the end of the program, which also answered students' questions, Satı Murat Demirer was presented with a certificate of appreciation by OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sevim Alışır.
