Rector Ünal: “We focus on planned and systematic development.”
During the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Ünal shared his thoughts and observations on the ongoing projects, emphasizing their focus on the planned and systematic development of the Bafra Campus. He stated:
“With its mission and vision, our university has focused on the planned development of the campuses where educational activities take place within the scope of its educational revision efforts. These studies evaluated the needs of the developing world and, conversely, our country, from the macro to the micro scale, revealing the current status and development dynamics of the campuses. We strive to ensure this unique development within the framework of the principle of sustainability, addressing identified and emerging needs. Ultimately, we aim for a sustainable campus life with spaces compatible with scientific research.”
A campus model that prioritizes the main concept of agriculture
In his speech, Rector Ünal stated that they considered Bafra's agricultural potential in addition to its tourism potential. He continued, "The consequences of changing global climate conditions, increasing human needs, and technological advancements are increasing the world's need for science and higher education. In this context, we have embraced the idea that the Bafra district, with its current potential, can develop on a micro scale with a campus model that prioritizes agriculture within this equation."
Land allocation from Samsun Metropolitan Municipality
The campus entrance gate, included in the Bafra Vision Plan, was planned on properties allocated with land support provided by the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality.
The gate plan includes a gate structure and landscaping designed in line with local architecture, as well as social facilities connecting the University to the city's residents.
