The Tourism Management Department of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Tourism has been accredited by the Tourism Academicians Association (TUADER).
The accreditation certificate was presented to OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın by Prof. Dr. Burhan Sevim, Dean of Kastamonu University's Faculty of Tourism, on behalf of the Tourism Academicians Association.
The ceremony, held at the OMU Rectorate, was attended by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, Kastamonu University's Faculty of Tourism Dean Prof. Dr. Burhan Sevim on behalf of the Tourism Academicians Association (TUADER), Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuhal Çilingir Ük and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Kaya, and TUADER Samsun Provincial Representative Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olcay Özışık Yapıcı.
"We are working to make OMU a research university."
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın stated that the university prioritizes quality processes and that efforts are ongoing to achieve full accreditation from the Council of Higher Education (YÖKAK). Prof. Dr. Aydın stated that quality processes have been internalized by all units of the university and that they are working towards this goal. Rector Aydın stated that OMU, currently a candidate research university, is working to become a research university and expressed her hope to achieve this goal as soon as possible.
"Student satisfaction will reach its highest level"
Presenting the accreditation certificate, Kastamonu University Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Burhan Sevim stated that he visited the OMU Tourism Faculty in 2019 as part of an accreditation site visit and that he has observed that the process has progressed since then. He also stated that further improvement in environmental conditions will maximize student satisfaction. He thanked everyone involved.

Speaking at the ceremony, OMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut stated that quality processes began in 2017 during Rector Aydın's tenure as dean and have been in a constant state of change and development since then. He stated that improving physical conditions would further increase student satisfaction.
