In Bafra district of Samsun, a panel titled "Human-Centered Justice in the Journey of Probation" was held as part of the 20th anniversary events of the Turkish Probation System. The panel took place in the Hanife Aşçı Conference Hall of the Bafra Tourism Faculty of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ).

The program began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem, followed by a slideshow presentation detailing the system's 20 years of activity. In his opening speech, Bafra Chief Public Prosecutor Olcay Aksoy emphasized that probation is not merely a method of execution; it is a concrete reflection of a human-centered understanding of justice focused on the protection of society and the reintegration of the individual into society.

Chief Prosecutor Aksoy stated in his speech that the probation system has become a strong mechanism through collaborations with public institutions, local governments, and civil society organizations, and that the practices in Bafra are one of the successful examples of this understanding. He also stated that the services provided by probationers for the public good contribute to social awareness and social improvement.

The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at Ondokuz Mayıs University. Mustafa Ersoy, the Bafra Probation Director, provided information on the history, operation, and ongoing work of the probation system. The panel also included presentations by Research Assistant Ahmet Can Yazgı on the legal aspects, Clinical Psychologist Elif Eren on rehabilitation processes, and Talip Toprak on the probationer's perspective.

At the end of the program, the panelists were presented with meaningful gifts related to the work carried out by the inmates within the prison, and the event was attended by the Bafra protocol, institution directors, representatives of civil society organizations, chamber presidents, and numerous students.
