A seminar on Combating Addiction and Raising Cybersecurity Awareness was held.

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Tourism and Bafra Tourism Vocational School jointly organized two important social responsibility events. The "Addiction Prevention and Cybersecurity Awareness Seminar" and "Kızılay Blood Donation – Not Without You" events were met with great interest from students and academics.

Addiction Prevention and Cybersecurity Seminar

The seminar, held in the Tourism Faculty Conference Hall, was organized in collaboration with the Addiction Prevention Application and Research Center and the Samsun Police Department's Narcotics Branch.

In an awareness training program for first-year students at the Faculty of Tourism and the Bafra Vocational School of Tourism, comprehensive information was shared on topics such as what drugs are, the onset of addiction, the physical, psychological, and social effects of substance use, methods for combating drug addiction, and the legal consequences of drug use. Students were also introduced to the Drug Combating Application (ADAPTATION), developed to prevent drug use and trafficking.

Following the Narcotics Guide Training Awareness Seminar, the Samsun Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Cybercrime Branch held a talk titled "Safe Internet Use and Cyber ​​Incidents." During the talk, students were informed about cyberbullying, phishing, safe social media use, precautions for online shopping, information security, personal data protection, disinformation in digital environments, and safe internet use. The legal consequences of illegal betting, fraud, blackmail, threats, and other cybercrimes were also discussed.

The event concluded with students' questions being answered.

As every year, this year, "Not Without You"

On the same day, the Faculty of Tourism, Bafra Tourism Vocational School, and the Turkish Red Crescent jointly organized a blood donation event under the slogan "Not Without You."

As every year, the Faculty of Tourism and Bafra Tourism Vocational School supported the blood donation campaign, carrying out a significant social awareness campaign with the participation of students and academics. To encourage students, Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut also donated blood. During the day-long event, faculty and university students, as well as staff, donated blood, supporting the Red Crescent.
